There is another Future HIT site, this one in Britain and started about the same time as mine, by Colin Jervis of Kinetic Consulting. Actually I posted my first post earlier (November 2005), but his blog, the full title of which is Connecting for Health (NHS CFH), NPfIT, RFID, Wireless, Robots, IT and Healthcare from Future Health IT, was actively posted to a good month earlier than mine, beginning in early December. My active posts start somewhere in January. In any case I am grateful to see validation of the concept, and will trackback to his entries often!
It does make me wonder whether I named my blog incorrectly though - perhaps it should have been "FutureBRIT", though that would have further conflated our sites given our positions on opposite sides of the Pond. My passion is the future of biomedical research informatics technology, which is tangential to healthcare IT. There is a lot of bleedthrough across the boundary, but the focus is different. I'm going to discuss that difference in my next post. Over time I will be waiting to see how our visions of the future differ. From what I have seen so far, Colin has penetrating insights to offer and I will be a regular reader. Keep up the good work, Colin!
Thanks for the accolades and the magnanimous way in which you have dealt with the duplication!
My first degree is in Biochemistry so I shall be calling back often to see if great minds really do think alike ;-)
