Healthcare scenario planning: Rephrasing the question

Discussions with colleagues made me realize I may be making this exercise a little too personal. I'm rephrasing my question so its focus shifts to an institutional perspective.

Here's my new question:

To what degree will clinical research informatics facilitate translation of an
academic health center's basic science research into evidence-based medical practice?

This question has institutional scope, but scenarios showing the daily life of a clinical research informatician will still play a role in presenting the scenarios. We'll also need to look at the effects on secondary-care hospitalists and primary care providers.
