Wow! This must be a day when everybody obsesses about their About Me page. Just after posting about Copyblogger's Why People Want to Know What’s In It For *You*, I found a fresh-today post from Ben Yoskovitz on his Instigator Blog called Why An ABOUT Page Is So Important - Part III of Fine Tuning Your Blog. Another great read on the subject of credibility and trust, but more importantly, on the need for a "call to action", which relates to what I refer to in the book as conversion events.
These are the events where the reader does something you decided you wanted them to do when you created the blog. Contact me, be the nth reader of my advice on dealing with fibromyalgia, buy my book - these are examples of conversion events.
Yoskovitz' message: If you don't ask for the sale, you may not get it.

Hey there - thanks for the link and honing down on my message from a sales angle...
Best of luck!
